Lauren Pipkorn has been working as a professional jewelry designer since 1989. She is a
graduate of the 2-year Jewelry Design Program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in
New York City. F.I.T. then recruited her in 1996 as an instructor, she is still currently teaching as an adjunct professor in the Jewelry Design Department.

Lauren was hired straight out of FIT as the head designer for Hammerman, a high-end third
generation fine jewelry manufacturer and worked there from 1989 to 1996. There she had the fortune of working for a company with its own factory and showroom on site. This way Lauren was involved from sketch/conceptualization of her designs, to working with the model makers/jewelers/setters in the factory, through to the sales in the show room.

In 1996 she struck out on her own creating Lauren J. Pipkorn Fine Jewelry Design. She began to design for various noted clients including Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston, Carvin French, Carelle, Temple St. Clair, Frederick Goldman, World Gold Council, Giorgio Armani, Ann Taylor, Vera Wang, Stuller, Avon, QVC, HSN, and many others.

Today Lauren continues to teach at FIT and work as a free-lance designer and consultant for her many varied clients made up of manufacturers, retail stores, and private customers. She also now teaches CAD at FIT and from other venues as an authorized trainer of Rhinoceros, a 3D modeling program. See: http://www.rhino3d.com/training.htm for current scheduling, or contact Lauren to schedule custom or on-site training.

Lauren is a multi-international award winning designer. Awards for design competitions include the Platinum Guild International, Debeers Diamonds Today, Modern Jewelers Buyers Choice, Jewelers of America, WJA Diva, MJSA American Vision, Miss USA/Miss Universe and the prestigious Debeers Diamonds International Award amongst others.
